Addiction
Senselessly driven
like a dirty mask
a cover
vexed my lies
ever need to be freed

Let us all wonder why
over and over
very few try, it seems
everyone wants it
People all need it
relatively few get it
ever I try
veiled in self centered emotions
always I try
i hope to with no regard
like the one who
saved us all

A King and a Priest

1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy kingdom, a people for Gods own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

In the Old Testament it was understood that the first born obtained the inheritance. His inheritance is a two fold deal. First he is a priest, and then he is a king and he was both of these over his dominion. When Christ was born He was the first and only son of God. He is the true priest, and the true King. Christ reign permeates throughout spiritual for He cannot control the physical, the things that are of this world. If He did control them, He would be bound to love and therefore have nothing to save of us. Not only is Christ the authentic King and Priest, he has imparted that gift to us.

You are a King

The nature of a kingship is someone who rules over his dominion with power. The king is ruler of all he can touch and has power that super cedes anything that comes his way. Everything is subject to the king. Paul states in Romans 8:28 that "All things work together for good for the elect." He explains this kingship more in 1 Corinthians 3 as he writes, "All things are yours whether...life or death or the present or the future, all are yours; and you are Christ." Obviously this kingly power is a spiritual power and must not be confused with a physical power of this world. Again, the word Savior is predicated upon us needing to be saved so we cannot have control of pain and troubles. We can however, have control of the spiritual world in our midst. The same power, the same spirit Jesus had access to is readily available for us today as his kings on earth. The gates of hell cannot withstand you. You are more than capable of taking control of your dominion, your sphere of influence. Evil runs at the thought of you because the know the power you have been given. You are a King and you reign in power over the evil that threatens your kingdom.

You are a priest

More importantly than being a king, you have become a priest. You have been giving the acceptance to go before a living God. You are able to pray for those who hurt, to intercede on behalf of the oppressed, and to cry for those who hurt. You participate in the royal priesthood therefore you can appear before God blameless, and worthy to advocate for your Kingdom. Being a priest, you have the responsibility to serve your kingdom by means of love. To become the least, so that the greatest glory may be achieved. You are a priest, and you serve your people with love and you have access to the Holy God.

You are a royal priesthood and a holy kingdom.

You are a priest and a king.

Jakes Bible

Lately I have been feeling sort of down. For the first time in a long time life just doesn't appear to be good. There are always problems, but right now I just have that feeling that the world isn't good. As I have been frustrated and confused I have also been very disappointed. I don't want to go into all my thoughts because they used to call people heretics and kick them out of the church for similar ones. I will say this, that I have been encouraged. Yesterday I was in my buddies room and he was on the phone. I was bored and his bible was just laying out there. If you have been around me much you know I have to be fidgeting with something every second of my life. So I started fidgeting with his bible, just flipping the pages back and forth. For some reason I stopped on one page and I saw that there was something highlighted. I looked to see what he thought was important enough to set apart and I felt unexpectedly encouraged. Or as Wesley would say "my heart was strangely warmed." Anyways, here is what I read.

My Son, do not forget my teachings
For they will prolong your life with many years
And bring you prosperity
Let love and faithfulness never leave you
Bind them around your neck
And write them on the tablet of your heart
The you will win favor and a good name
In the sight of God and man
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And lean not on your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:1-5

Let love and faithfulness never leave you.

Always things running
leaping and bounding through the mind
less they ever go
If they ever do
Can we really do this?
always trying
never trusting
Dumbing everything down
oh so sad
If we could just let go
see the world for what it is
The place to be and learn and grow
ready to listen
you would think

I could kill someone...if I had earmuffs.

Yesterday was a good day for a lot of reasons. It was my buddies birthday so all the guys spent the day together. We shot guns, ate lots of food, watched the Michigan game, played some golf and had a bonfire. All around good day, but my favorite part was shooting guns for one reason; I can finally shoot stuff.

We have been out shooting many times before and I have always stunk. We usually go clay pigeon shooting, which is where we launch these clay disc in the air and shoot at them. Keep in mind that I live with rednecks so this is quality entertainment for them...and me. For some reason I have never been able to shoot one. I have shot at them more times than I can remember but I have never hit one. It is actually border line embarrassing/pathetic.Yesterday, that all changed.

As an explanation I must say I have never been able to close my left eye without closing my right one. When I try I resemble Brad Pitt, except I have really squinted eyes, no muscles and a big nose. If you ever shot a gun you know how hard it is to shot without one eye closed. It all looks double and it is impossible to hit anything. Well, yesterday someone had the idea that I should take bobby's earmuffs when I shoot and place one over my left eye so I can focus out of my right eye. Embracing my inner pirate, I did and it was like magic happened. As soon as put those on I hit eight clays in a row. It was amazing, and everyone was just as surprised as I was.

Because of my new found talent I started threating people, stating that I could shoot and kill them if I wanted. Ben (the birthday boy) just sort of laughed and reminded me that all he had to do was take my eye patch off and he would gladly let me shoot at him. I thought "Arrr, he be right."

So I was feeling pretty good. I actually did a couple of cool tricks with my shooting. The first one being racking a shell out of my gun and shooting the shell mid air. I was pretty happy. Then I was able to roll a golf ball off the end of my barrel, flick it into the air and blast it. It was a lot of fun. I wish I had a camera because I am pretty sure those tricks were YouTube worthy.

To top the day off Michigan beat #10 Penn State. It was real good to see Michigan win against a legit team. It was real nice just to get away from the school work, and the stress of whats been going on lately.

Don't drop the soap, God is watching.

Today in the news I read about many important issues. Apparently Iran has drawn up a plan to bomb Israel as a retaliation measure. Good luck against the chosen people morons. Also, a predominant figure in the Khmer Rouge has been taken into custody and is waiting a tribunal. E-bay decided to take Belgium off their available products list. However, there is one story that wedges its way to the front of my mind today.

State Senator Ernie Chambers has decided to sue God. Rumor has it that Big Guns upstairs has committed one too many crimes against His people. The Almighty is being accused of causing untold deaths and it appears that He has no plans of repenting from these actions. Unfortunately, God has not presented any official statements regarding this matter. As a spokesman for God I would like to remind everyone that God has always held to the claim that He is perfect and has no plans of retracting those statements.

Perhaps there are some positives to this whole issue. If the Big Guy does end up in the big house O.J. would have one have at least one inmate who is guaranteed not to judge him. Also, if God is found guilty of murder it does seem possible that Christianity could make a comeback in the slammer. With a fully God yet fully criminal being walking amongst the prisoners, it would seem that a shank could quickly be replaced by a bible.

I hope that all of these allegations are dropped soon. For Christ sake, lets not put yet another father behind bars.
